The anticipation for IIFA 2024 is building up as the star-studded event approaches. At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan entertained the audience with his signature humour. Joining him on stage was Karan Johar, who served as co-host for the event.

Abhishek Banerjee, who will be sharing the stage with Siddhant Chaturvedi at IIFA Rocks, was visibly starstruck by Shah Rukh's presence. As the Jawan actor took the stage, Abhishek expressed his admiration for his recent performance in Stree 2, prompting Shah Rukh to playfully tease him. “Abhishek, it is so wonderful to see you after seeing your wonderful film (Stree 2). I have been wanting to call you.”

Shah Rukh also light-heartedly commented on his long-awaited return to IIFA after a decade. "They have called me just once before. Now they invited me after a decade. I would have always loved to come, but unfortunately, IIFA was hosted at the times when I was shooting."

Turning his attention to Karan Johar, Shah Rukh playfully prodded him to be more involved in the rehearsals. "Please come for the rehearsals, Karan. He has told me he will not rehearse. He wants to do it on Zoom. Make some movies also, brother, how much will you host."

While Shah Rukh and Karan Johar will be hosting the main IIFA Awards, this year's event will also feature IIFA Utsavam, a celebration of South Indian cinema. Rana Daggubati will be the host for Utsavam. He reminisced about a memorable after-party hosted by Shah Rukh, which brought together the entire industry.

Adding to the excitement, Rekha will grace the IIFA stage this year, while Shahid Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon are set to deliver electrifying performances. IIFA 2024 will take place in Abu Dhabi from September 27 to 29.
