Fardeen Khan recently marked a significant milestone in his career by celebrating the 20th anniversary of Govind Nihalani’s political action-drama, Dev. The actor took to Instagram to express his gratitude towards his co-star Kareena Kapoor, who had recommended him for his pivotal role in the film. Fardeen, who recently made a comeback with a key role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, shared his reflections and memories from the film that starred industry legends like Amitabh Bachchan and the late Om Puri.
Fardeen shared a reel on Instagram featuring intense dialogues by his character Farhan Ali, interspersed with powerful scenes of Kareena, Amitabh, and Om Puri. The post was captioned with heartfelt words: “It was my third film with @kareenakapoorkhan and it was she who recommended me for the role, and I will always be grateful to her for that. Reflecting on the impact of the role on his career, Fardeen wrote, “This role gave me the chance to work on a film that was relevant and meaningful, which was rare at the time. But the greatest takeaway for me from Dev was getting to share the screen with Amitji, an actor I idolized. His life and most amazing career have had a profound influence on Indian cinema and has left an indelible mark on not just me but on every Indian. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, a true honour and an absolute privilege to work with him, making it one of the highlights of my career.”
Fardeen and Kareena Kapoor shared the screen in three films, including Dev, Khushi (2003), and Fida (2004). Their on-screen chemistry and collaborative efforts were well-received, adding to Fardeen's acclaim. The actor's recent appearance in Heeramandi as Nawab Wali Bin Zayed-Al Mohammed marked his return to acting after a nearly 14-year hiatus. The show, featuring an ensemble cast including Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and others, has been highly anticipated.
Looking forward, Fardeen is set to appear in Visfot, produced by Sanjay Gupta. He is also slated to feature in Mudassar Aziz's Khel Khel Mein, alongside stars like Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, and Ammy Virk. As Fardeen continues to rebuild his career, his gratitude towards his peers and the opportunities he's received remains a testament to his enduring passion for cinema.
