In her recent interview, actress Kalki Koechlin candidly discussed her current relationship with her ex-husband and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who happens to be presenting her latest film, Goldfish. Kalki revealed that although the years following their divorce were challenging, they have now forged a strong and supportive friendship.

Reflecting on the journey from divorce to friendship, Kalki told Puja Talwar in an interview, “It takes time. There is no denying that in the first few years after our divorce, we couldn't be the kind of friends that we are today. We needed that separate time because it hurts to know about the other person's relationship and things like that. So, of course, we took that time, I definitely took a lot of therapy and now it's been seven-eight years... It's been a long, long time so it's fine, it's great and we get along, as friends.”

Kalki and Anurag tied the knot in 2011 but decided to part ways in 2015. Their professional collaborations in the Indian film industry have also contributed to their ongoing connection. Kalki made her Bollywood acting debut in Anurag's 2009 romantic dark comedy Dev D, where she played a pivotal role opposite Abhay Deol. Subsequently, she collaborated with Anurag on his 2010 thriller That Girl In Yellow Boots and the 2019 Netflix India Original crime thriller Sacred Games Season 2. In addition to her evolving relationship with Anurag, Kalki has embraced motherhood. In 2020, she welcomed her daughter, Sappho, with her partner Guy Hershberg.

Talking about Goldfish, the movie marked the return of Kalki Koechlin to the theatres after four years and was released on September 1, 2023. Anurag Kashyap presented this stirring drama which was directed by Pushan Kripalani and produced by Amit Saxena.
