Bollywood filmmaker Kabir Khan says that it has begun to play on his mind when it comes to the current climate of people getting offended easily. He says that things are often blown out of proportion and he has become a little conscious when it comes to his work. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Kabir said it is actually sad that as creators, one has to now keep these things in mind as well. Speaking about the current climate, Kabir Khan said, “It has begun to play on my mind. There have been too many instances of very arbitrary things picked up and being made into an issue. But, at the same time, I am going to say that most of it are on social media. So, if you are someone like me who is a little insulated from social media, you don’t even realise it’s that big. It's people who are into social media, in their minds, those issues are really large big. I have seen this and I have been consciously trying to stay away from this. Sometimes I realise, if you don’t see it, you don’t even it’s there.” He added, “Having said that, it is a nuisance. It can affect sometimes a release of a film. You don’t want that because it is somebody’s money riding on that. You can’t be like ‘I don’t care’. You can’t be in la la land. You have to have some level of awareness of what’s happening. So yes, I am a little more conscious of some things that can be taken in the wrong context and can be misconstrued, and that’s sad because as creators we should not be doing that. We are responsible enough to know that we won’t be doing something deliberately to hurt anybody’s sentiment and nobody wants to do that. But, at the same time, you can’t be looking at things with a microscope and trying to pick up things to create trouble. That’s something like a colour, one line, one word – you can’t pick up that and bring down the vision of the entire film or the director into just that like ‘Oh, they are trying to do this deliberately’. I think that’s nothing but a nuisance.” “So yes, one has to be a little careful; maybe we would do a double check once we’ve written to make sure everything is kosher as far as we know and we can imagine it’s not going to hurt anybody’s sentiment,” he said. Meanwhile, on the work front, Kabir Khan has his next directorial with Kartik Aaryan. ALSO READ: EXCLUSIVE: Love I have got for 83 is 3 times of all my films put together, says Kabir Khan
