On January 29, Jyotika posted a significant surprise to Instagram. She disclosed that her next movie Sri, starring Rajkummar Rao, will mark her return to Bollywood. Following the completion of Sri's filming, she posted a photo with actor Rajkummar, director Tushar, and producer Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani. Jyotika announced on Instagram that the filming of her Bollywood comeback movie has finally wrapped. Sharing the photo, she captioned, “Wrapped up my portions for “SRI” with a heavy heart. One of the best crews I have ever worked with. Thank u Tushaar n Nidhi for all the respect and making me part of this meaningful cinema. Huge fan of yours Raj. It’s an honour for me to share screen space with one of the most brilliant actors in Bollywood… learnt so much from you. We are so so lucky to have had the opportunity to get to know you and see you perform so naturally and effortlessly! Was an absolute pleasure. love you.” Jyotika’s husband Suriya wrote, “May this wonderful journey win hearts. Tushar commented, “Hope to keep on working with you in the future more and more.” The biography Sri is based on the visually handicapped businessman Srikanth Bolla. Tushar Hiranandani is the director, and Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani are the producers. In the movie, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar are also a part of the project. In 1998, Jyotika made her acting debut in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna. Although she also had a Hindi feature, Little John, out, she had primarily focused on Tamil movies. With Sri, she will now return to Bollywood. Little John, a 2001 movie starring Jyotika and directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, was her last Hindi film. Tamil and English versions of the film were all released at the same time. Jyotika just finished production on Kaathal, her upcoming Malayalam film. In the movie, which will be helmed by Jeo Baby of The Great Indian Kitchen fame, Jyotika and Mammootty will work together for the first time. Her last appearance was in the Tamil film Udanpirappe, which her actor-spouse Suriya had produced.
