There's a reason why movie goers will celebrate Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari as the first of its kind. The film's entire team and the producers at Zee Studios took a massive leap of faith when they stood by their decision to release the film in theatres. In an ingenious initiative titled #ChaloCinema, a hashtag trending widely on social media, the studio stood by their stand of backing theatres and bringing back the audience. It was a simple idea - the film was made for the big screen, it should release on a big screen. Bollywood came out strongly to support the reopening of theatres with the film.
It all started with Aamir Khan's tweet, "On my way to see Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari in a Cinema Hall. Really looking forward to the big screen experience, after so long!”
The barrage of tweets from leading production houses followed there on. Reliance Entertainment, who've kept two of their tentpole films on hold, wrote, "Let the celebration continue! #ChaloCinema to watch #SurajPeMangalBhari on the big screen!"
Sony Productions says, “Audience pe Entertainment Bhari. Book your tickets now! @ZeeStudios_ #ChaloCinema…”
But the surprise love came from OTT giant Netflix India, who wrote, "We may have finished all the mithai we were going to send, so we're just going to tweet our best wishes to @diljitdosanjh, @fattysanashaikh, and @BajpayeeManoj whose movie Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari releases in theatres tomorrow! To storytelling and entertainment.”
Viacom 18 Studios wrote, “The dim lights, the surround sound, and a complete cinematic experience is back! This Diwali #ChaloCinema to witness the most epic showdown in #SurajPeMangalBhari @ZeeStudios_.”
Eros Motion Pictures wrote, "Bahut bhari! Box office pe ab sab Mangal hi Mangal hoga! Best of luck team Zee Studios!”
Junglee Pictures' official handle tweeted, "Finally the wait is over, time to head to theaters as #SurajPeMangalBhari releases tomorrow. Family ke sath weekend plan hua pakka! Puri team ko Badhaai Do!"
Emmay Entertainment, who too have a major release lined up in near future, added, "Wishing team #SurajPeMangalBhari the best of luck, as the film brings back the big screen experience! Weekend plans hai set! Watch this epic showdown, 15 November ko!”
Pen India tweeted saying, "Congratulations @ZeeStudios_ for #SurajPeMangalBhari - let’s all ‘ATTACK’ the cinemas with wonderful films."
Bearing testament to how the industry backs one another and stands united in the face of adversity, the support for Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is heartening. Shariq Patel of Zee Studios says, "The last few months have been turbulent in unprecedented ways. But we can see the signs of healing when so many colleagues, peers and fellow studios came out in support of our film. It's a show of strength and a reminder that we will get by this rough time together. Cinemas are evergreen and no matter how bad it has been the last few months, we will emerge stronger and triumphant after this phase together."
