HBO, at the end of April, confirmed that the Game of Thrones prequel series House Of The Dragon was officially in production. The network released photos of Paddy Considine and Matt Smith during the table read with the cast recently. The prequel is set 300 years before the events of Game Of Thrones and will focus on the story of the Targaryen family.
On Wednesday, May 5, House Of Dragon released first look pictures of Matt Smith and Emma D’Arcy as Prince Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen. Apart from them, they also shared the first look of Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon who later becomes the Hand to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

House Of The Dragon has 10-episode order. Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, the series will tell the story of House Targaryen (a.k.a. the House that gave us the Mother of Dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen) and take place 300 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It is created by Martin, Miguel Sapochnik, and Ryan J Condal and scheduled for release in 2022 on the HBO Max.
